Gardenality / Earlier Dot Designers platform work

Plant knowledge, gardens, and community.
Gardenality brought plant information, personal gardens, practical advice, and member contributions into one web application. Dot Designers provided the primary technology development for the original platform.

The project at a glance.
- Challenge
- Connect detailed plant information with the ways people plan gardens, share experience, and find gardening advice.
- Our role
- Primary technology development through Dot Designers, with later work restoring plant data for public browsing.
- The solution
- An ASP.NET/C# platform joined plant profiles, member gardens, articles, questions and answers, and administration. A later PHP publication restored searchable plant records.
- The result
- A gardening application connecting plant knowledge, garden records, and community contributions, with a restored public plant library.
Plant knowledge
Give plant information a useful structure.
A plant profile needs more than a photograph and a name. Gardenality organized botanical identity, growing conditions, hardiness zones, mature size, and other recorded attributes so people could browse and compare plants.
That plant information supported a wider application for discovering plants, recording gardens, finding practical articles, and sharing gardening experience.
Community application
Connect the library to gardeners.
The original ASP.NET/C# platform included member gardens, plant collections, questions and answers, articles, photographs, and member and business profiles. Administration tools supported the content and relationships behind those public pages.
Our work through Dot Designers connected these features to the application and its MySQL-backed data model. Gardenality’s original credits identify Dot Designers as its primary technology developer.
Restored plant discovery
Publish the plant knowledge again.
The current public library makes a restored selection of Gardenality plant records searchable by name, growing conditions, and mature size. Individual profiles present plant photographs and recorded attributes.
This later PHP publication gives visitors a way to browse recovered plant information. The current views below show that plant-library experience.
