PolymerLogix was CrC Software Solutions’ online planning product for industrial coatings and linings. Engineers, facility teams, and project owners could work through a project’s conditions and prepare a coating plan through one application.
Our team created the Java software behind that process: collecting project information, evaluating requirements, comparing coating choices, and producing the documents needed to plan and specify the work.
Four assessments shape the recommendation.
The application evaluated the conditions that determine how a coating should be selected and applied.
- Structural: construction, surfaces, defects, and conditions affecting preparation and coating life.
- Mechanical: equipment layout, installation constraints, and special application procedures.
- Internal: maintenance practices, facility policies, operating procedures, and site requirements.
- Chemical: exposure type, concentrations, service temperatures, and immersion or splash conditions.
The Java application stored and compared these requirements across reference data to develop project-specific coating and lining recommendations.
Generate the project’s working documents.
We connected each assessment to a coordinated set of documents, carrying project information into the bid and specification package.

- Technical specifications and application procedures.
- Projected budgets and customized bidding documents.
The same software supported planning for containment areas, tanks, ductwork, stacks, semiconductor facilities, and flue-gas-desulfurization systems.
Estimate the return before starting the project.
We also built the ROI calculator in Java. It used experience level, personnel cost, project difficulty, and estimated project cost to calculate a projected return from using the planning software.
Those estimates helped users compare planning effort and potential savings before committing to the coating work.
One application, from evaluation to bid package.
We implemented domain-specific decision logic, project data, recommendations, document generation, and cost calculations in Java. The application connected those functions in one online workflow that people could use to plan and specify their own coating projects.
